Photos and Video

Snuggles is a Chihuahua girl with agenisis of one forelimb and one rear limb
( born this way)

She is learning to run without the cart. Going on walks, the cart comes in handy.

The best news of all is she has a forever home!

Bronte is a small Chihuahua with hip dysplasia and luxated patella. 7 surgeries so far in her one year on this earth. This was the first day she was learning to use the cart. Very apprehensive. Seemed she could not believe she could go this fast.
She is with a foster now and looking for a forever home. See here here www.rescueachihuahua.com

This is the second dog named Lulu that I have built a cart for. She was hit by a car and surrendered by the owners that did not want a dependent dog. She is not in any pain. Loves people. Needs a diaper for #2. She holds her urine and needs expressing 2-3 times per day. She is wearing booties to prevent dragging injury. We are hoping she will try to use her legs. About half of the dogs I build carts for walk again. She was the dog in the San Diego Union Tribune 2/24/11 article.  Here is another video link She even has a blog story  link

This is Lady
She is a rescue following a hard life as a breeder
She was able to walk for short periods before falling.
Hopefully she will rehabilitate and not need the cart.
She sometimes uses the cart like a kid with a shopping cart!

This is Gracie the Minpin

She is looking for a forever home that has experience with handicapped dogs.

NEWS UPDATE!

She is standing and walking a bit ( hopping). Her foster mom is hopeful that she may walk almost normal some day. Water therapy is in the plans.

This was Lulu's final fitting before her trip to New Mexico.

She gets tired easily as she has never been able to exercise like this.

Scooter & Lulu with foster mom Jenny

Some people have commented how they were effected seeing scooter drag his body in Lulu's video.

He is not in any pain and loves life. He plays with the other dogs as if he had no disability. He was so excited to see Lulu move around. (without a cart she flops side to side)

The cart lets him go for walks and move fast.

Lulu and Scooter were adopted together by a wonderful family in New Mexico.

Foster Mom Jenny, saved their lives.

Hopefully they will inspire others as they did me.

Just found out that Scooter is now walking a little bit and will stand sometimes!

  This is RICO.
Three month old Chihuahua

He is a lucky guy with a new permanent home.
Born with congenital spinal problems, he can not walk without help.

He is like any another puppy.

The cart is adjustable as he grows.

To the left is a quad cart before final fitting

Escondido Humane Society; Check out Luna trying out her new cart, donated by Michael at http://smarterce.com/pet. Luna is movin' and groovin' in her foster home where she receives daily rehabilitation, including swimming therapy. Luna's survival story is possible because of the Escondido Humane Society's donors and volunteers...thank you to all who matched her spunk and will to live with your unwavering support!

Every animal that comes to the Escondido Humane Society touches us in some way. But every now and then one comes to us that really tugs at our heart. One such dog is Luna, a 2-year-old Chihuahua mix. Luna ...FACEBOOK page

This is the pack at my house

This is Luna recovering from a spinal injury.

The cart has not been fitted completely at the time of this picture. This was a special treat as most of the carts are shipped out without my personal attendance.

The Escondido Humane Society nursed her back to health.
